Didn't see this posted yet. From the MyTouch ROM dump. Apparently works well with PC (not Mac?). Dunno if its cool to post a link or not...

Get it in the XDA - EVO - Themes and Apps section. I'd link to the thread if it doesn't break rules.

Haven't tried it yet but reports are good. :D

Edit: OK basic instructions. Visit the link in the post below. The op in that thread has 2 files. Download both. Use any file explorer like astro to find and install them. Install the basic yahoo messenger app file first (the small one) then the video add on. Just click on the files to install them, no root or PC needed.

Then open the messenger app and log into yahoo. From there u can start a conversation and start a video call.

Some users report trouble, most report it works good. The xda thread has many reports.

Ugh. I just started converting my family to Google Talk on the pc (from Trillian, MSN Messenger, and Sightspeed before that), and now we have to migrate to Yahoo? No thanks; I'm tired of chasing the elusive "can do everything " chat client. Google: get your act together and deliver what I need!

The problem is that there is only a small handful of phones with front cams. Does Verizon even have one yet? Need more of a market out there and some smart dev will have a cross platform, cross client app.

Works great. Only one problem... the video service keeps running and takes up 7-8% of your CPU. You can kill it, but you have to reboot your phone for video to work again.

how long did this take to load? it seems to have taken a looooong time for the two files to download....

Yahoo is easy to use. I just tried the video chat it works awesome, I'm a truckdriver in Kansas right now and just had a video chat with my wife in N. C. Man I love technology....

This sounds great...what did your wife need to load on her pc? Or was she using a mobile phone? Thanks

If you click on your name on the screen with your friends on it, a drop menu has the option to sign out. if you do this you should not have to reboot phone to get video to work. At least I haven't had to yet and I've tried several times..

one question.. how do i make it work.. can someone help out for some of us that dont know how to make it work.. please.. does your phone need to be rooted or something.. thank you for your help

What doesn't work? Can u not get it installed or get the video to work?

It installed for me, I see the video chat available when in a conversation but haven't tried it. Enough reports say it works tho.

Download both files from xda, I used astro to open app manager, installed the bigger file first then the smaller one.... moved both to sd card as well. Stock 2.2

It seems to be working for me, but they sure could have through in a few instructions to make things easier on people who haven't a clue what to do. smh

That works great. Signing out and then clicking the back button seems to kill it from memory. Just hitting the back button leaves it running.

This will be great for my trip to California in a few weeks with my wife. We'll be able to do video chat with the kids at home over 3G.

It does a pretty good job when roaming too. I just wish you could use a bluetooth with it,
