Can somebody please have a walk through instruction if u can please, I'm not too smart with things like that, do I install those files straight to my phone, or do I have to use a computer also do I have to b rooted cause my phone is rooted

Just download both files... use a file explorer like astro file manager from the android market.. navigate to the folder where you downloaded the two files to. Install the regular yahoo app apk first, and then install the video apk file second. Then just login...

Unfortunately, I have to reboot my computer between chats or I can't see video from the Evo on the second connection. Don't have a webcam on the computer yet, so I hope it gets better when I have one.

On this very same post someone already explained it, and when you hit the link they explain it there too.

Download both files from xda, I used astro to open app manager, installed the bigger file first then the smaller one.... moved both to sd card as well. Stock 2.2

Download straight to the phone. No PC needed. The files will be on the SD card in a folder called "download".

Does audio work with video...i made two yahoo ID's, and chatted one from my evo to my pc. video worked fine, but i couldnt hear myself from my phone to my pc?

I have to say that this is BY FAR the best video chatting app out there for the Evo. Qik was terrible, Fring was only workable until they lost Skype, and the Mochiva app was rough.

Yahoo video messaging was better over 3G than any of the others were over WiFi, and there really is no question about it. The audio lagged a bit, but not by much. Plus, it didn't cut off randomly like some of the aforementioned apps do! Highly recommended.

I agree. Since my laptops at home don't have webcams, EVO to EVO is really the only video chatting I need right now, and Tango does this very well. I'll look at Yahoo again when people report fewer "need to restart" issues.

I believe that the need to restart is operator error. If they log out of the yahoo app when finished it doesn't slow down the phone and works fine when you sign back in... at least so far for me that has been the case.

Don't know if it has been mentioned...but I was getting a "logged out, because you are logged in elsewhere...". Found out it was my Fring account interferring with the Yahoo account. Remember to use one or the other. I even had chat not showing up and going to Fring.

Works like a dream for me! obviously got the best results over wifi but with 3g it was still pretty good.

So far no issues with this app but I make sure I sign off every now n then to make sure it stays working...I'm wondering if I uninstall astro manager would the yahoo messenger video still works since it was the only way I was able to open the file fr xda

It should because when you opened it the first time it had to install so you can use it.

How do you change the notification sound to something else in yahoo chat. I just see were you can turn it off or on in settings and that's it.

Don't think you can yet, remember this is a leaked version. The official build may have that option... but that's only a guess

Video chat no longer working. Messenger makes you update and that screws it. Waiting for a fix...
