Ok so I just tried for the first time to have my evo connect to my wifi at home. I have used my palm pre before with no problems and I should be having a problem with the evo. Any suggestions?

I am using a belkin router.

Thanks and sorry if this was answered in an other thread.

best post name ever.

I can't get mine to connect to my g/f either, but let me know if you have any luck...

Now seriously, where are you getting in the connection process? Do you see the network listed under networks?

Wife? With a thread title like that I think you should head on over to the electronic fetish forums. ;)

ROFL! I came to androidcentral and this thread immediately caught my attention and I had to click on it first. My Evo and my wife don't play nice together either. I don't let her near it! :-)

Sorry guys I had to fix the title for future search purposes wife in stead of WIFI very funny...lol

Later,
Dave

Make sure your SSID is not hidden. Not only is it useless as security measure, but EVO cannot connect to it.

It gets all the way to connecting and then says disconnect

But are you hiding the SSID on the router? If so, try unhiding it. I've heard that there's something about hidden networks that the EVO doesn't like. You could also try updating the router's firmware or connecting to another WiFi network to see where the problem is.

MY evo connected fine when I first got the phone. Then we upgrade to Froyo and it won't connect anymore.

I have the same result. I used to connect fine, and now since the upgrade to froyo I can not get it to work. It shows that its connected to the wifi but I am unable to surf the web at all. It is like no data is being transfered at all.

@lognut - I have the same issue. If I turn WiFi on when I get home and surf the web, it connects and works well. I then turn the screen off and don't use the phone for awhile and then go back to it. Sometimes it will work and other times it will not. I have to turn WiFi off and then turn it back on in order to surf even though it shows the phone is connected.

My Wifi stopped working a few days ago. It won't connect to my router, even though it did for months before hand.

I'm not sure what's going on.....luckily my proximity sensor has been on the fritz and I'll be getting a replacement device on Monday.
