Can anyone please help? Have no idea how to get past this or what I may have did wrong.

Thanks!

You didn't do anything wrong. Your phone's software version isn't compatible with that particular delta update. The install script you saw reported that your version didn't match the two it can update. There is likely a different update for your phone coming.

Is there any posted schedule (or non posted for that matter) to the roll out? I fully understand a tiered roll-out for the sake of server load, but going by what is posted in the thread, only the most recent devices have seen the OTA update - which someone mentioned is probably less than 5% of all the Evo's out there. Over a 3 day period? At this rate it will take better than 2 months to update all of them.

Which does not address the issues posted by the Sprint Admin that some devices (I am pretty sure mine fits in this category even though it is not 60 days old) have an older chipset on the camera and may not be updated period.

Where and when was this reported/stated?

"please reference the CE forums"

Phil, General AC Forum goers...That would be me, I've personally been there all day from my sprint tech office. We are monitoring all this closely, and I'm double checking here and the XDA forums since I'm a rooted user too.

Not sure why it was coded up as 0002 and 0003 hardware only, waiting for clarification on if we are going to close the gap and it will be pushed to all hardware versions (as in no more different software variations like 3.29 versus 3.30 for the old camera chip/new camera chip). 0002/0003 old camera, rare 0003's and 0004's may get a same labeled version but at a different interval than the others so that the camera chip info is not screwed up. Last part is speculation by me, but as of 10:00 tonight I did not have that clarification yet from my constituants on the CE forums.

Those are internal forums not accessible by outsiders of sprint so I apologize that I cannot link to that information, as not only would it be company confidential but it is behind company intranet walls anyway.

I read this to say that there is no current support in 3.70 for the 3.29 users with older camera chipset. Please correct me if wrong.

I read it as that the new version of software will work with either hardware. Meaning, no more 'new cam running .30 version, and 'old cam running .29' version. I read it as new cam and old cams will all run .70.

Put a link to the demo or the app and at least allow us to hide the link if we are uninterested...JMO

Agreed. But MORE importantly- don't add it to the list of preferred auto-load crap. Some apps don't do anything and will just be pushed out of memory when needed. But junk like "SprintZone" is polling regularly- using CPU, memory, battery, and throwing out stupid notifications that I don't want or care about.

Post OTA Appbrain shows a new app called "HTC Loggers" 100kb dated 8/1/2008, the same date stamped on BlockBuster. Google searches dont return anything. Any else seeing this?

I actually can't wait for this update!
I use Sprint TV everyday(I suscribe to the Xtra package), and I welcome any improvement in the program... I'm also interested in using the Blockbuster app. I used the Blockbuster service all the time on my T-Mobile HD2, and have missed it since moving to the EVO...
As far as the NOVA game goes, this is what is preventing me from updating right now, since I already own this game, I'm holding off on updating until Sprint or Gameloft gets back to me as to whether this update will affect the paid version..
Swype I use already, and will gladly uninstall the beta to get a fully baked version!
All in all this is a great update!

Well I am acutally having to wait and ain't liking it, even a little bit :) Guess I will see Swype in a week or two, maybe - It does seem like they are updating a couple a thousand a day and all the "NEW" customers.

Can't tell you how many I know that have switched to Sprint recently, some because of me, that are receiving the dang update and me who started with back when it was Sprint 'PCS' having to wait, and wait, and wait, and wait, and wait...

First off, I love the N.O.V.A. game - except for the inability to save because it's a demo. So I don't know if this has already been discussed in one of the previous 30+ pages, but how about that update to the 4G functionality? Does this frustrate anybody else?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the 4G will no longer reconnect automatically if it finds coverage... it just shows you that dumb notification and waits for you to tell it to connect. What if I'm driving and the signal drops a little bit? I lose 4G the first time and I don't get it back until I tell it to reconnect...

Did I miss something?!

I gotta say Im kind of offended to see so many new evo owners getting the update before those of us that bought our evos on launch day. truth be told Im not even really that interested in the update as I have had the Swype beta for months but its the principal of the matter lol
Actually from a business standpoint this makes the most sense. Most new Evo owners are still within their 30 day return limit, and with Christmas fast approaching and so many carriers offering so many devices for the same price or cheaper, and people leaning on the fence, Sprint has to keep those customers the happiest. People like us loyal Sprint early adopters arent going anywhere, so of course we can wait. The Nexus S went on sale today, so I want to make sure all new customers have the latest and greatest before they jump ship. Sucks for us, but hey "its big business, this is the American way".

Makes sense, but I don't have to like it. :-)
