Dookie happens no matter how much of a tank your phone is. I'm not expecting my Epic to fall apart for at least a couple more days.
Call me what you want but I don't have insurance.

It all comes down to personal needs. The two phones are different enough that depending on your needs, you would HAVE to go to one or the other.
For me, both phones are more than adequate as a communication device. So on that points, they cancel each other out. Beyond that, I REALLY need the phone to have at least a serviceable camera functionality. This is where the EVO FAILS in EPIC fashion. The stills look horrible like all HTC camera phones and the VIDEO is worse than a FLIP cam. EPIC on the other hand is excellent in both stills and video. This was the deciding factor for me. Yes, I would have preferred a non-slider, but I can deal with the slider form factor for the superior camera.

People need to stop acting like the camera on the Evo is some $5 Walgreens special and the epics camera is some $300000 NASA camera. The Evo takes very good pictures. As a matter of fact it replaced my point and shoot during my vacation to Puerto Rico. I got about 40 if the nearly 400 pictures developed and they look great. Is the camera on the Epic better? Yes, especially in low light. But the people that exaggerate how much better need to stop. Those are usually the same people that act like playing games on them is like comparing a ps3 to a ps2 which is complete bs and exaggerated.

Sorry to disagree. I thought this, but if you go down to the Evo photography thread, the stills are not horrible. The video is also decent, even if it is not as good as the Epic's. Many of its problems are software related anyways.
Now, so I don't sound like a fanboy, the Epic's camera is pretty incredible for a cellphone. It is better than the Evo's and it's playback rate is a bit better.
Why are you doing this? In the Evo forums anyways? Posting like this will make people think you're a troll. Please, if you are going to post in another forum, at least try and compromise with the others. If you post stuff like this, you'll just get flamed back. I learned my lesson long ago...except with the iPhone fanboys. I FREAKING HATE THE IPHONE!![]()
This is an EVO vs Epic thread right? My comment was only regarding the subpar camera on the EVO. Other than the camera, I think I gave the EVO a fair assessment as it's compared to the Epic.
The EVO photo thread just doesn't do it for me. I guess my standards are too high when it comes to the pure quality of the camera's output. Nothing in that thread has shown me otherwise.

There have been plenty of people from the Epic forums that's come here and made comments. Nobody flinched because they were respectful. Nobody is getting at you because you had an opinion, it was your attitude about it and your fanboy way of stating your opinion. I've looked at the Epic picture thread. And while they are very very impressive, it's not that much better to act the way some of you people act.
Perhaps my usage of words on the severity of the EVO's camera's shortcoming is what you are referring to. Believe me, I'm not doing it for drama. I truly find it that poor. For anyone asking opinions of the two 4G phones, I always make that known.

Enough of the hatin' I'm speaking absolute truth. The color output from the EVO's camera is pretty much the cam's biggest shortfall. 8MP looks decently sharp when the light is good but the color is always off, even with proper WB. A guy demonstrated this.

That picture of the can doesn't look right... There's no reason for the can and the brick to have that blueish tint. It almost seems like the picture was taken with the florescent settings on... Also, it would have been a little more fair if the pictures were taken at the same time.
