Excellent fingerprint and facial recognition

Is it just me who got lucky and got it set up really good or is it working as perfect for everyone else?
I'm not using a screen protector, set up both my thumbs TWICE and just face as it instructed me to.

Actually, I had the worst time getting my fingerprints scanned in.

I can't say anything about facial recognition. I'm not going to set it up on my Note 20. The Note 9 will probably be the last Samsung phone that I will be setting it up on.

Still getting use to the finger scanner being on the screen. I keep reaching to the back of the phone as I'm coming from a Note 8... I don't use Face Unlock. Not as secure.

Same here. I still think that rear fps might still be the better setup. I also miss the option where you can bring the notification screen down by swiping down on the fps.

Yeah my wife has the Galaxy S9 and it pains me to see her notification LED flashing away there and the FPS on the back at an ideal location and like you say, the option to use the rear FPS to pull down the notification bar.

I had to move on from mine and the preorder was too good to pass up.

I will say that the fps isn't too bad, but I have had a few moments where I have been worried about dropping my phone while trying to unlock it.

I also keep hitting the volume down button when trying to turn my phone screen off

You can install the Tap Tap app and set it to pull down the notification bar when you double tap the back of the phone, I haven't tried it yet on the N20 but it worked fine on the Note 10 plus

I did install tap tap but I found it really drained my battery so I uninstalled it.

I didn't notice any battery drain from it on the Note 10 plus but I disabled it again as a precaution now on the 20 so that it doesn't interfere with battery the first few weeks, I'll try it again later on.

I actually agree that the rear GPS was awesome. I am finally getting used to the in screen FPS, but it's still not as reliable In my usage yet.

For opening the notification shade, you can make it easier by going to settings > display > home screen, then enable swipe down for notification panel; now you can swipe down from anywhere on the home screen for the notification panel and swipe up for the app drawer.

A conundrum then as the instructions with the WSD say set new ones up ! Lol.

I'll have a play and see if my initial prints work OK.
I installed a Ringke plastic film and its working fine with the prints prior to install. I guess I'll see how it goes when I get the WSD. I'm liking the FPS on the Note 20 Ultra. Recording and reading prints has been 100 percent accurate so far. It was great for me on the S10, S20, and Note 10, however its much better on the Note 20.

Coming from the Note 9, I'm still trying to break the habit of reaching my index finger to the back to scan my fingerprint. When I first scanned my thumb I did it straight on and found I was having trouble getting it to recognize my finger as I was putting my finger on the screen sideways as I held the phone. Rescanned my thumb sideways and now it seems to be working pretty good but still slower than the scanner on my Note 9. Haven't tried the face scanner yet.

Have been using my iPhone 11 Promax since the Note 20 ultra. The fingerprint sensor is a godsend since i have to wear a mask more than 12 hours a day. Works well from what I've experienced.

5 days with the phone and so far it seems to work better than with the Note 10+. But the Note 10+ was actually working pretty well for me as well. At this point, I'm pleased despite the disappointment that we didn't get a new version of the sensor. I don't use facial recognition so I can't speak to that.

The facial recognition works very well.

The finger print isn't reading all the time, but that can be human error.

FPS works surprisingly well and I’m using the Spigen NeoFlex TPS screen protector installed!

Finally powered on my phone to start the painfully Long process of setting up a new phone. First thing I did was put in the Spigen NeoFlex TPS Screen Protector the night before and let it cure for 24 hours before first power up becxause it’s a wet install and takes time for the few bubbles remaining to clear. I figured you need the protector fully cured and no air at all under it for the FPS to have best chance to work.

I was expecting the FPS not to work with the TPS or have a hard time but honestly right out of the gate, it’s working nearly 100% and works better than my FPS on my Note 8 it feels so I’ll keep on testing it out in following days. If it’s not working it because I think I was figuring out how hard and long to press.

Pic of N20U with Spigen NeoFkex installed..

No it's slow for me and requires me to leave finger on the scanner for a few seconds

Registered thumb twice.

So, I initially set up FPS on my Note20 and as all said, it works very fast and accurately. But when I put on a glass screen protector, it would not recognize FPS 100% of the time. I thought it was the glass screen protector, so I sent it back and ordered another one. Removed all stored fingerprints and attempted to redo WITH the screen protector on and Touch Sensitivity on - NO DICE. So, I guess I need to remove the glass screen protector, set up the FPS, and then reinstall a glass protector or forget and go with a TPS one? Thanks in advance for suggestions.
