excessive data usage

we have 2 s4 from Verizon one of the phone is good on data . the other a friend has and is killing all the data . has not used the hotspot on it yet , is the phone faulty . i have check the data useage from the aps and nothing is using that much .. any idea ..

Hm.. It really depends on what he is doing on the phone.

If they happen to be using OOKLA Speedtest to check data speeds, it can consume a huge amount of data before you realize it. I burned up 626mg of data the first day I got the S4 after switching to Verizon from Sprint, LOL. Never realized Speedtest used that much because of the miserably slow speeds I was getting on my Sprint phones. Was wonderful to finally see great download speeds everywhere I went, until I realized those 50Mbps speed checks were actually using 50mb of data every time I did it
