Ok, I am getting emails and contacts and notes and task are all set up, but can?t get calendars to work.
I am getting some type of conflict. Several times tried and it still states synchronization is experiencing problems for the calendar. When talking with VZW, they state it?s a setting on outlook 2007 in my laptop. Any thoughts on what this might be? I have not been able to get help from our IT department since my phone is rouge (purchased on own not through corp. program and won?t turn over my phone number to them, have worked for them 12 years?crazy)

So where should I look at settings on my laptop in outlook to make this work?

I don?t want to use gmail or sync through gmail.

If email, contacts and everything else works, why wont the calendar.

Help please

First off, I am not an IT guy...I believe that this cannot be a setting on your laptop. Activesync communicates through an exchange server. I am 95% confident that the incorrect setting is going to be there.

Time to suck it up and play nice with the IT guys :D They truly have the best interests of the organization at heart.

Good Luck

Also are you hooking it up via USB cord and htc sync to your laptop or do you have it OTA with the exchange accounts on your phone?

This is true it is not a setting on the laptop because the phone doesn't hook in with the laptop. Unless there is a setting in outlook that is telling the server something, there should be no reason why your calendar isn't working. If you can buy the IT guys BWW and they should get it working for you ;)

I spoke with IT, nothing on their side or laptop. According to them, nothing to adjust.

By the way it's not sucking up to them, we are friends, just corp. policy about turning over phone number and no rouge phone help. They are not trained in androids only BB.

I uninstalled my profile and then added it again. Still have same issue.
Any other ideas? Thanks so far

Under the Settings->Accounts & Sync->Exchange Active Sync (your work account) do you have Calendar enabled?

Yes and it states
Synchronizing is experiencing problems
so i have hit sync now and still get the same thing.

Thank you, thank you all for your help.
How crazy...changed up like suggested and I have my calendar is working.
Now I will let you smart people try and figure out why the category would crew up my calendar, but I won?t be using them anymore. Who care I am working!!!!
Around of drinks for all that helped!!

Thank you very much. This seems to be more than just a Thunderbolt issue. Setting categories and then clearing them also worked on a HTC Incredible 2. Was pulling my hair out.

Thank you KarbonKopy! I've been wishing my calendar would work for a month now! Setting and removing categories worked amazing! Many thanks.

This is a Thunderbolt (and possibly just software version) problem. As both an Exchange admin and a Thunderbolt user, I can say that with certainty. :)

The first Thunderbolt I got, which I applied the OTA to prior to connecting to my Exchange 2010 server, had the same known calendar issue where the syncing was not working correctly. The workaround that has been posted did help but still did not make things perfect. I verified this with colleagues in the exact same situation.

I then got a spare Thunderbolt that did NOT have the OTA applied to it and configured the same ActiveSync connection. My calendar has synced 100% correctly since.

I am trying to switch from the native mail client to Touchdown. To keep things clean I want to begin by removing my EAS account from my Bolt.

When I try to remove the EAS via setting.account & sync I get a warning that my data will be removed. I hit okay and the account is still there.

Is there someway to forcably remove EAS from my Bolt?

As a test I was able to easily remove another account, Twitter via the same procedure. Something is wonky with EAS.
