Exchange email reply issue

I've had my HOX since release day and added my two email accounts right away. I use the Gmail app for my personal gmail and the included Email app for my work Exchange account.

After about a week I was not able to reply or forward work emails using the built in Email app. I can receive and send (new) emails but if I try to reply or forward an email I get a Notification saying "The email was not able to be sent."

I've removed and re-added my work account multiple times. I can reply for a day or two then I get the "can't send" issue again. I've verified that I am using the correct settings when I setup the account.

This is the only negative I have with the HOX but I would love to figure out what is wrong. Thanks.

I have the same set up you have (personal gmail and work account) but I have not ran into that issue. Does it happen with both gmail and work account? Have you brough it up to you IT department at work? I know my IT department called me last week to find out about the device since I am the only one at work yet with the phone.

It is only happening with the default Email app. The Gmail app is working fine so far. I have not gone to the IT department. The company is one of the larger in the DC Metro area. They put out instructions on how to add your work email to your smartphone. I followed the company instructions to add the account to my One X. I made sure to remove my old iPhone 3G and iPhone 4 from my profile with my company too. I did not have this issue when I had my iPhone 3G or 4.

I also have the same setup as you guys, Exchange server setup on built-in app & Gmail app for personal email -- no problems with replying/forwarding work email from the default mail app.

Ever consider downloading a third email app (like K-9 Mail) that supports Exchange to see if you are still running into the same issues?

I just downloaded K9 to try it but I am having trouble getting it set up. If I get K9 working I will try it for a few days but I actually like the default Email app so I would like to figure out the issue also. Thanks for the help so far.

Contact your IT department and have them check the Exchange logs, find out if the mail is making it to the server. This could be the server generating the message rather than the phone, you need to rule one or the other out.

I have had the same issue with my emails....not all the time but if using mobile data, unless I have full H signal, it will not send.

I have emailed HTC HQ and they said that my email account wasn't supported by the phone (what the hell - btinternet).

Well as its only some of the time, I have just decided to make do with it and connect to WIFI when I can. Its started to get better.....or maybe I am just getting used to the issue.
