Expected Price Range of the Note 8?

How much will you spend for a Note 8?

What's the highest price would you pay before you started thinking about buying the Mate 10, 1+5 or one of the other Android flagship options out or coming out soon? At what price would you all together decide, I'm not getting a Note 8 that's too much?

Re: How much will you spend for a Note 8?

Er... I'd never get a Mate 10 and OnePlus 5 is like half the phone of the Note 8, so I guess I'd draw the line somewhere around twice the price of the OnePlus 5. The Note 8 isn't really the phone to watch this fall though, it's the 10th iPhone and/or the Taimen.

Re: How much will you spend for a Note 8?

I buy the Note for it's pen and note taking software, I "NEED" it for my business, so price isn't that big of a issue.
No other oem offers what the Note does. I sorely miss my Note 7 and would be happy if I could get that back for the $900 i originally paid for it.

2nd gen Google Pixel phones might be ones to look forward to for rest of year besides the Note 8 and iPhone 8. LG made such a nice showing with the G6 this year I am curious to see what they will do for the V30.

Samsung is not Apple. Never will be. Samsung doesn't have the cachet that Apple has. IPhone is a pop culture phenomenon. It's revolutionary. When was the last time you saw a Samsung release anything close to the iPhone hysteria every year. IPhone releases are events. Can't remember the last time that the media covered a Samsung release. No need EVER to camp outside a store waiting for a Samsung release date. Just walk into any store on release date and buy a samsung within an hour.
That is why Apple can command such a high price AND come through each year with world leading sales.

Yeah, I don't see the problem. I'd much rather be able to walk in and get the phone I want in stock without the stupid histeria. Score one for Samsung!

The last one had stories like this: "But instead of massive lines outside London's flagship Apple store in Covent Garden as seen in previous handset debuts,*there were just a few people waiting on the sidelines."

And "iPhone 7 launch line at Apple's flagship 5th Avenue store in New York City was around 400 people, versus 650 for the iPhone 6s and 1,880 for the iPhone 6."
Sure, 400 vs almost none for Samsung, but it's down.

As for the price, Samsung has enough "fans" to warrant it. I'll probably get it. I have the Note 5 and really like the spen.

7edge was 749, 8+ 849. . .thinking Note 8 949. I'm more concerned about the down pmt. I had to do 130 down I believe for the s8+.

For me, I have no interest in those other phones. My interests are in the Samsung flagship and possible the LG flagship. I really liked the V20-only true flaw it had for me, no Samsung Pay.

Samsung pay. I hear you! I think if it wasn't for that, I will be switching phones every month lol. It's a blessed curse.

I doubt $949. Probably $899. If that was the case, phones would have been over $1K a few years ago.
As far as the down payment, I balked at the S8+ because of this. The Note7 did not have a down payment and was $35 per month.
If anything, I would guess $60 down payment and $35 per month.
T-mobile said previously that base models would be 0 down. Their language changed when I talked to them about the S8+ to "more expensive" devices. I think the days of zero down are coming to an end soon.

The S8 is currently listed as $750 and the S8+ $850 retail... and can see on the Samsung site. No way the Note 8 is going to be only $50 more than the +. They didn't do it last year with the Note 7 either.

$950 for the Note 8 with 64gb storage.
$1050 for the Note 8 with 128gb storage.

LOL...weren't the S8 and S8+ suppose to hit the 1000+ price tag as well? That was the rumor and it never happened.

I'm not believing any crazy rumors until it's official. Or at least more of a convincing leak closer to the announcement.

Samsung isn't stupid. They are aware what the smartphone market will or won't limit them to. If that turns out to be $1000, then so be it.

But nothing is for certain yet.

Why do televisions and PC components all stay at the same price points, but phones keep getting more expensive? It doesn't make much sense to me.

The S8 and the S8+ were never supposed to hit the $1000.00 price tag, that is reserved for the Note 8. It will hit that plateau, which is why i'm trying to get my hands on the Note FE.:p

Yeah it seems like TV's seem to come down in price over time. 5 years ago a 55" LCD would cost $4000 or $5000 and now it's $1500 to $2000. 5 years ago a smartphone or iPhone would cost $400 or $500 now its upwards $1000 or more. It doesn't make any sense to me either.

All goes back to economics 101. Supply and demand.

Majority of people buy a TV once every many years. Majority of people however replace their phone every 2 years. Not counting addicts like me with new phone every few months.

Trust me, the high price is reflecting high demand. It's that simple.

Yet both were rumored to, right here, by some of the same people now saying the Note will cost that much.

Maybe, maybe not.
