Extend time to enter alternative password?

So I'm trying to show my wife how to use my phone and she of course needs to unlock it using the alternative password (I use a fingerprint lock). But the phone keeps timing out while she is trying to select the letters and numbers of the password. (She's not used to a smartphone so is slow at using the keyboard.)

Is there any way to make that timeout longer so she can "hunt and peck" on the keyboard in a more leisurely way?
