External DAC

Has anyone tried an external DAC such as the Audioquest Dragon fly? I guess I'm getting spoiled by my LG V10 and Axon 7 and want better sound from my S7A which I use most of the time. If I get one, I'll report back how it sounds.

I have a Nexum Aqua, battery free 24bit.192khz dac.
When I had my Note 4 it made a huge difference in the volume and clarity, when I switched to the Note 5, not so much different from the built in dac. I rarely use it now. You probably are looking for a powered headphone amp too right?

I believe it contains a preamp/amp. My Sennheiser headphones are fairly efficient so I'm mainly concerned with the sound than the volume. I couldn't audition it, but the folks on the forums at head-fi.org say it's pretty good. I used to always just be satisfied with .mp3s, but now that microSD cards have gotten much larger in capacity and I can store .flac files I want something better. Last night i copied several songs to both my S7 Active and LG V10. The difference is quite apparent. If it doesn't make much difference at all, I can use it on m y laptop I guess.
