Have s22 ultra 256gb, have over 4,000 photos and videos stored on phone. I'm looking for a device to use as a better storage option other than phone. I see online that Samsung SSD, WD and Seagate are the major ones. Which device is the best and safest to use?, SAMS Club has thr Seagate 5 tb SSD for around 120.00 is this a good option?

In my experience, if used often then the external hard drives that also have their own external power cords/adapters used to be at least slightly more reliable. I had a USB powerer hard drive that I used regularly and it did not last as long as another one I had with its own power cord. If the USB powered one isn't going to be always connected, then maybe they are just as reliable (in theory they should be), almost like a thumb drive.

Regardless of the different brands I have had over the years, I think the actual hard drives inside all of mine have all actually only been Seagate.

Mine are all still actual hard drives. In theory, you'll have more reliability with SSD than I have had.

I also have heard good things about Seagate, on the other hand have also heard or seen great reviews on the Samsung and WD SSD's also. I might be wrong, but I figure either or any of these would be a good choice. I just realized asking this is off topic since it's about s21 phones, sorry. Thanks for all your help and input.

The mods can put it into a different forum/section. I think it is a good discussion to have on AC, related to using hard drives with Android devices.
