External SD Card

Yes: I would avoid 64GB cards because an inordinately large percentage of them have manufacturing defects.

Interesting but I have > 32G music I want to carry around.
Would plugging into a PC and running a drive error check detect this?
Any makes better than others?

And what about differences between SDXC and SDHC. And does M8 support UHS-1?

So get a 128GB card.

I haven't heard that it did yet.

Possibly. However, the overwhelming majority of 64GB cards are baked in one and the same fab on Taiwan (TSMC), afaik.

Idk, tbh.

I have a 64GB Class 10 SanDisk MicroSD card in my M8
works perfectly, no defects
every person i know that has a 64GB card with defects, it's because they got it from some off-brand company
trying to cut corners while shopping on eBay/Amazon lol

Pathetic response from HTC Support
"When it comes to UHS-1 we can't really tell if M8 supports it or not, we do not have any information regarding that."

Let's put it this way: I've heard of many, many 64GB cards gone wonky, but not yet of 128GB cards.

I think the reason behind this is sales volumes. I didn't research but I bet the 64GB out sells the 128GB 100 to 1. So of course there will be more problems just because of how many or out there.
