Good afternoon friends.

My nexus 6 recently got updated to 5.1.1 and I noticed that now is going extremely dark when I turn on the Adaptive(automatic) brightness. Been using it for a month now and never had this issue, but now is going really dark, anybody experiencing the same issue?

Any ideas?

Thanks, Will.

Howdy.
On the rare occasions I use the A.B. setting, this has not been noticed.
I usually keep mine maxed out with no battery use problems, but that just me.

Mav.

Sent from the future on my Sprint Nexus 6.

Make sure your ambient light sensor, (left of the top speaker) is clear. Some screen protectors and such can screw with ambient brightness.

With mine it gets bright in sunlight, but it seems to be very slow to react to the change in light, I get like 5 seconds of darkness before the back light kicks in

Mav,
If the sensor were obstructed, wouldn't that cause the device to think that the environment is darker than it actually is and cause the display to increase its brightness?

Actually it is the exact opposite. The darker the environment the less you need to increase the screen brightness.

I turned off my adaptive brightness for the past 2 days and actually like the screen on this phone better now. I don't think I've had to adjust the brightness over 45% not even now as I type this outside in full daylight.

I'm trying this strategy for a few days, so far I like it, at somewhere around 40-45%

I'm also not using adaptive brightness. You seriously can see in daylight with under 50%? I sometimes have troubles seeing anything with full brightness on when in sunlight. Maybe it's the nillkin tempered glass.
