How does everyone like the weight of the phone? I went to VZW and played with one earlier, and frankly I did not like how light the phone felt--it felt very cheap.

Lightness of a phone doesn't matter, I suppose, but was curious as to what everyone's opinion was. As far as everything else, I love the phone and can't wait to hopefully unwrap one on Christmas morning.

I have no issues with how lightweight this phone is. It's like a godsend after having the OG Droid for almost two years. The build quality IMO makes up for how light it feels - it doesn't feel like cheap plastic.

The weight of the phone is fine in my opinion. If you dislike the weight of the phone, you'll probably want to find another.

Newsflash, most of the phones out there use quite a bit of plastic in them. There are also a number of other threads that discuss this very topic.

Why do people think a phone being light is cheap? I think lightness is a plus.

The bigger they are, the harder they fall.

I used to think the same way you did, though after owning a blackberry for 3 years that's light as a feather, I would like the phone to have a little more heft than it has. This is of course an extremely minor knock I have against the phone. If I throw an extended battery/case on it, it will add to the weight.

I'm not sure what the issue is either. I think a lightweight phone is a plus. I think it is reminiscent of the old fallacy that the bigger, more gas guzzling a car is the safer it is.

When did I say lightness/heaviness of the phone was an issue? I didn't. I simply wanted everyone's opinion on how they liked the weight of the device. Don't over-analyze, Mr. Fallacy.

If light = cheap I'll take cheap. For what it's worth it feels about the same weight of the Dinc. It has a very quality feel to it, looks nice, doesn't squeek. This is purely PERSONAL opinion. Why post, if you think it's cheap don't buy it. Seems rather simple to me. The phone is very solid.

I think its got a great weight to it. If you think it is a bit lightweight, you could always slap a case and larger battery on it.

Love the lightness of the phone. In all honesty, it's great for lounging around in bed and browsing news.

Or prawn. Whatevers.

When I was checking it out at best buy I was amazed at how light and thin it was. I was used to a heavier phone so the Nexus almost seemed too light. Not a bad thing. However, I figured I would get the extended battery and add a little weight and thickness. I never thought I would want to do that to a phone. So it will be a win win for me with extra battery life and a slightly (very slightly) larger phone.

you clearly said lightness makes it feel cheap. What does the razr feel like then since it is even lighter than the nexus? You may very well be the only person who complains about a phone being light. Usually everyone complains about it feeling like a brick. I guess it isn't heavy so someone has to be "that guy" complaining about how it feels.

I wouldn't talk about lightness since everyone seems to agree that lighter is better (even Eleer).

Looking cheap, I personally do not agree with OP. It looks just like other phones. It surely doe not look way more expensive than others. However, it also does not look cheap to me. It is, still, my personal opinion.

I believe this was wht Eleer was looking for. Correct?

It's better for everyone around me if my phone doesn't weigh down my pants. Being skinny isn't always great.

I'm with you. One thing that bugs/bugged me with my OG Droid was if I was wearing athletic shorts or the like, the phone in my pocket wanted to de-pants me.
