Greetings,

On my p20 pro, "eye comfort mode" doesn't look any different when it's off than on.
My mobile shop doesn't make many Huawei sales and no one there has a Huawei phone on display so I can see it in action to know if mine is defective or not.
it's a feature I would like to use since I often use my phone in the evening and would like to block the blue light.

I spoke with Huawei support and they couldn't provide me with an image or example to compare so their advice was to do a factory reset. Still no difference after that.

THe phone is only 3 weeks old. I'm willing to return it under warranty if I know this feature is defective.

Should there be a noticeable difference when "eye comfort mode" is turned on?

If it helps I have a mate 10 pro. also has eye comfort mode. I can cleary see a difference when i flick it on and off. I'll be honest and say i never use it. but I checked it out when reading your post and as I said I can see it clearly change when flicking on and off. It reminds me of reading mode on my BENQ monitor.

I use it and it is very noticeable every evening at 22:00. If feels like whites turn warm yellow.

I think we can choose a colour profile for the screen, but I didn't want to change anything, so I haven't tried that out. But hearing your problem makes me wonder if you have chosen a warmer colour for the screen, which in effect makes it so that you have the same colours as the night profile, and would make it look like no difference ?

My settings:

Natural tone: off
----
Colour mode & Temperature: Vivid
Colour temperature: Default
----
Eye Comfort: off, but with schedule for 22:00
Colour temperature slider: middle

Best regards
Dennis

I used your settings below and although I see a slight difference, I wouldn't say it's at a level that would make any difference to eye comfort. It is a bit warmer, but not much. For example, my husband has a Samsung A5 and when his setting is on, the screen turns noticeably medium-dark yellow/orange. If I can figure it out, I'll try posting a screen shot.

I use it at night all the time i do the see a tint yellow once i turn it off i can see the white more clearly. I don't like it too yellow that actually bothers me more than anything. Also you can adjust manually worse case scenario.

You can use the slider under the Eye Comfort settings to make it warmer in colour to your taste. It will only slide with Eye Comfort on, so temporary enable it and adjust, and then back to scheduling.

I went to two mobile shops today to view Comfort Mode on the P20 Pros there. They worked exactly as mine. So, I've concluded that this feature needs work IMO. I will continue to use it because it's better than nothing, but I wish it was better.
Thanks for your comments, folks.

Im reporting the same problem with eye comfort mode, not sure if it Huawei or Android Pie problem? I have the Huawei Mate 10 Pro on EMUI8 Android Oreo & eye comfort mode works perfectly, just updated to EMUI9 Android Pie & there is virtually no difference from low to high, I have eye problems & i wish I had not updated.

I have noticed that EMUI 9 is not as efficient at altering the screen for eye comfort as 8.1 as well.
