facebook app don't working

I'm not sure what happened but the app for my Facebook will not work, everytime I try to open it is get" unfortunately, Facebook has stopped" I have tried everything and nothing is working... what can I do???

Welcome to Android Central! Try going to the App Manager, select Facebook, and Clear Cache/Clear Data. Then open it again and log back into your account. Does it work now?

No it does not work neither does uninstalling and installing again..help need fb on phone

I assume you're not the same person as the OP, correct? Do you have the same phone?

I am having the same problem as Darlene York. "unfortunately facebook has stopped" this only started this week after facebook updated. I have uninstalled, rebooted reinstalled multiple times. No help, I have cleared the cache and rebooted, not help. I really don't want to do a factory reset is there any other option? My phone is a Samsung Galaxy Core Prime.

OP means Original Poster (i.e., the person who started the thread). The OP of this thread has a different username than yours, but sometimes people change their username, or create a 2nd account, which is why I was asking.

It sounds like the latest Facebook app update might be buggy for your particular phone. Send Facebook this feedback, and then use the mobile Facebook site in your browser for now (which has almost the exact same functionality and performance as the app, without hogging as much memory and battery).

I appreciate the information, yes the OP and yes user is different. I have used the mobile Facebook site in my browser but it is not up to date posts, etc. ? Must be my weekend?! Now my Ipad wants to update FB, nooooo, lol. Thanks

Besides clearing the cache and Data - Perform the [Force Stop] on FB app too

Turns Off/On the phone. Open Google playStore and re-install Facebook
the Shortcut app-Will be posted in the HomeScreen and also inThe
Apps icon-Proceed to open FBook. Does it works now.?

You can search Facebook on Google Play and scroll down until it shows their E-mail. Click on it and it will take you to Gmail. From there, you can write them your issue.
