Facebook app "story" notifications

Although this isn't technically a Note 8 question, it is the phone I have, and I can't seem to find the info anywhere else. I wonder if anyone knows - or is it even possible - to turn off notifications when a Facebook friend posts a "story" or adds something to one. (For some reason several of my FB friends have started posting stories on a regular basis, and I keep getting notified when they do.)

I tried searching the FB help pages but they are pretty useless, and seem to deal mostly with the website.

Is there a setting I can change on the FB app on the Note 8 so i don't get story notifications? Thanks for any help.

I think I found a solution, go to your notifications on FB, long press on a friend notification that they added to a story, disable

Thanks con I'll give it a shot. Does that turn it off for all notifications or just for that friend?

Great question, I think it does, I'll know soon enough, haven't see any since

Me neither! Thanks for the tip, it seems to have worked. (Or else my friends are just taking a break from posting stories )

I swear, I think they must sit around Facebook headquarters and say, "What can we do to make it more annoying today?"

They also put these stupid "stickers" just above the text box now when you want to leave a comment on somebody else's post. Twice now my clumsy thumbs have accidentally sent one.

If it weren't for family and friends back inIreland I would have dumped it, but FB Messenger is really good for calls etc.

FB gets more spammy as time goes on. I have several non-personal pages (one for my grandmother's art, the other for a radio show I host). I continually get pop up messages/reminders about how "you haven't posted in a long time, your followers are missing you.".....ummmmmm, just posted the day before.

They're scrapping the barrel to get people to log in and increase add viewing numbers.

Yep. They get in trouble, and deservedly so, for major security breaches, selling our data, Cambridge Analytica, giving a platform to racists, etc. but all the little spammy things they do daily that fly under the radar get ignored.

People thought My Space was going to be around forever. Or AOL. I can see a point in the future where people will be staying, "Wow, remember that crazy Facebook thing everybody loved."

This.

Free calls that I used to pay for ppd calling cards all the time for calls overseas.
Better connection as well.

Otherwise, I'd drop FB and FB messenger
