Facebook app

Is it just me, or is the Android Facebook app the buggiest piece of crap there is? That along with messenger which of course is Facebook related.

It also really annoys me when I have settings done a certain way only to come onto the app the next time and they are undone like videos starting with sound automatically.

Anybody else have issues like these?

I use the browser for FB. The app is not only a battery hog but leeches data and information from your phone to FB in the background.

Lol I have also on my Note 20U I think with latest update , think it's server side thing.

I stopped using Facebook a year ago but yeah, some of the most bug riddled apps I've ever used.

It felt like everytime they released an update for a new feature or to fix a bug they introduced new bugs. The reliability of the app has varied greatly for me over the years. At one point it was such a battery hog I refused to use it and relied on the web browser.

It was also very common for my app to reset settings and auto play videos with sound regardless of how many times I disabled it they seemed to be enabled again within a week.

I'm with Kizzy, I use the browser for any FB interactions.

I stopped using the app version of FB back in early 2014 when I found the app was using way too much data on my BlackBerry Z10 - several GBs per month alone when I only opened it maybe 2 or 3 times a month. So it was deleted. Data usage dropped by a lot.

That carried over to my first android phone in late 2017 when I got a Galaxy S8. First thing I did was disable the FB app (it can't be deleted normally without some extra help). Still on the browser only.

Amazingly, I never see those targeted ads everyone I know talks about getting on FB after visiting or searching something.

I'm using Facebook Lite instead of the official app. Dark mode works perfectly on it. The app isn't completely bug free though. It does load quicker.
