Facebook for HTC Sense not working

The iPhone had a facebook problem early last week or the week before with the app crashing upon launch and it seemed like it was almost everyone who has having the issue, then it was fixed within 3-4 hours. maybe the same type of issue,just taking longer to fix it.

Wonder if they needed to make a change for Froyo and the possibly updated SenseUI, and rolled it out a bit early?

On a related note, any one able to setup a Sync account for standard Facebook? When I first try, it says "Signing in" forever. I give up, then try again later, and pressing on Facebook doesn't do anything, and it doesn't show up in the sync list.

try this

1)Go to your facebook profile on your computer browser

2)Got to Info, then Edit profile

3)Go to Education And Work

4)Under employer: Change both position and city/town to include whatever city you are currently in. If you have multiple employers (past and present), change those too

5)Go to your Incredible, settings, accounts & sync, Facebook for HTC sense, sign in & it should work..

That has got to be one of the weirdest fixes I've seen.

It got me signed in but still doesn't sync my contacts

if it doesnt work, go in and change all you address again to make sure and use the FB suggestions too.

I am having this same issue. When i try to manually sync a contact through my phones contacts I click on face book and it fails to pull any contacts over. My phone acts like i have no friends. HTC Hero 2.1-Cellular South.

It's the weirdest thing, but adding a city and state to my employment did make Facebook work, but it still says I have no friends.........

Mine did that too. Tried the fix, no friends. After I got off work they were there. It must just take some time to sync up or something.

Mine also started working this morning when I checked.
Last night before bed, no friends, now I have friends again....yea..I'm not a loaner anymore.

Gave up on fb app weeks ago. I now use a desktop link to the m.facebook.com website. Much better imo.

Still blows me away that the most used social site on the best mobile os has such a pathetic excuse for an app. Things that make u go hmmmm .......

Does anyone have issues with notifications not working in the facebook app? I installed it from the market, and my app drawer takes me to it now. But I think I also have Sense Facebook on the phone somehow (even though when downloading it it said it would replace it.)

Anyhow my issue is that everything with the app itself is fine except for notifications. When i click notifications while in the app, it says they can not be retrieved and has an error message of "-1 / null" or something to that affect. So i'm not getting notifications either in the app itself, and because of that not in the notification window pane. Any suggestions?

If anyone still has this issue.....

I fixed mine by removing the Facebook for HTC Sense from my SYNC account.

Then re-added it... Apparently, I had changed my password on my Facebook account and didn't change it in the HTC Sense Facebook account.... so, it wouldn't sync. The only way I knew this was contacts I started putting in didn't show any link to that same contact on Facebook.

I have the same problem
