Facebook Messenger - Notification sound switch is gone

Hi guys!

I dont know what updated, the OS or the app. But the last week or so Facebook Messeger has been killing me with annoying notification sounds.

The switch to disable notification sounds are gone, and there is no option to set "none" as notification sound.

I don't want to disable all notifications from the app, as I like to see visual notifications. And putting the whole phone on silent is not an option...

Anyone else? Someone who can help, or shed some light on the issue?

This is a problem with all my apps since Android 9 pi update. I used to be able to select the level of notification, from low (no sound, no visual interruption) to medium ( no sound, but with visual interruption ) to high ( sound and visual )

I need that capability back for every app, because I don't want to get sound from most of them, but still want the visual notification. And I don't want to turn off all sound, because I still want text and WhatsApp to make sound

i have the same freakin problem and have reported it to facebook twice. i haven't seen any other issues with other apps on my phone like BH-14 below.
