Facebook: Network Error, No Internet Connection

I decided (originally) to use Friendcaster for Android. Awesome app, great use of space/layout/design, and was optimized for tablet use.
However, it started bugging out on me ("Friendcaster received an invalid response: try logging out and then back in again!"). So, installed the official Facebook app and it borked on me (same issue), on my Nexus 10. After updating, error is fixed (for official app). Just figured I'd let you know; not sure if that's the resolution for all those affected.

looks like Facebook updated their app again yesterday I wonder if the new version has had any effect on these problems.

Nope, updated and still getting Network Error.
Unfortunately this also make other apps that log into facebook not available at the moment.

Guys i've had the same problem as u for a while now and this morning i think i might have solved it.

So i decided to factory reset my phone this morning(i have a galaxy S3 btw, i-747), and when i re-installed cm10 google calendar was telling me to download something.

This something is the solution to our problems i think. It told me to download Google Play services. Now maybe im wrong, but as soon as i downloaded it, i re-installed the facebook app and was able to update my news feed and everything. Yes, i am running the newest version of facebook.

So maybe u guys can try this out, good luck to you!

Uninstalling/reinstalling Facebook fixes things....for a few hours.

Then, it's right back "Network Error"...

AW: Facebook: Network Error, No Internet Connection

The Facebook app was crap before going native and it still is crap.

Every now and then it resets its settings and so turns on all notifications.

Even if you turn off notifications, it still runs a background service.

Contact sync is broken on stock Android for a long time.

And now this network issue. Crap!

I get this too but aren't worried about my device, is just rubbish face book as usual.

Hi, I have the same weird problem, only with the facebook app. This really sucks. I like updating my status on the go or uploading pics, but it doesn?t work since a few days. This is really annoying. Now that I have a device which is so great for sharing, I can?t use it :-(.
Hope they?ll fix it.

Try FriendCaster.

Facebook had an update this evening and so far I haven't taken a network error since updating. I'm cautiously optimistic that they actually found and fixed a bug.

Yep -- so far, so good!

Are you still good? No network error issues? I get this error on my Galaxy Note 2 and my wife's Galaxy SIII.

That update from January 18 seems to have fixed the issue for me. I had it act that way one time about a week after the update, but it hasn't had a problem again since. Hopefully they find and fix the issue for people who are still having the problem.

I had this issue today and spent some time looking for an answer. Whilst looking for a solution I found the answer. Now the previous sentence may sound wrong it is valid. When searching on my browser I kept getting certificate error messages which I ignored for for the first few searches....as you do. Then I thought why am I getting certificate error messages! From there the answer to FB issue was plain to see, it's obviously also not able to validate a certificate and because its nice friendly app it doesn't like to give all those nasty alerts to a users. The reason my certificates were invalid was because the date on my phone was wrong after a reset... It thought it was 1998 therefore all certs were expired. Reset date and from there everything worked fine.

I get this error on my galaxy note 2. I tried every suggestion in this thread. Nothing worked.
