Facebook Notifications

How the hell do i get my fb notifications to pop up when someone comment on my status or stuff like that? can it even do that?

Current Facebook app doesn't support notifications for Comments, Likes or Wall posts in the notification bar unfortunately. The latest update today brought Push notifications and Chat support, but the Push notifications are only for Friend Requests, Messages and Events.

Unfortunately the FB app for Android is lacking background notifications. It will only show them when you launch the app. What most people do, like myself, is set up your FB account to notify you via email.

you can also setup facebook mobile so it sends you a text message as notifications.

I just received a market update for the FB app and in the changes they list push notifications as a new feature. Sadly, it's only for 2.2+ Android phones.

Which really ticks me off....the least Facebook could have done was made sure all Android phones could update....as long as we've waited for push notifications.
