Facebook on the Note 9

Anyone else seeing that Facebook doesn't appear to stay open in the background? Everytime I go back to it, it seems to reload. I'll try and do a screen video to demonstrate.

That's been the app behavior for a while. I started noticing it since the Note 8, but was all the time like that on the S9 and now the Note 9. Even if you leave it, wait a bit, and then try to go back to it using the Recent Apps menu, sometimes it just crashes and says it couldn't open the app. You open it from the app list, and it does open but without keeping your place.

mine has stayed open for hours or closes quickly. no real rhyme or reason.

I prefer to use Facebook Lite as it's less battery and resource heavy than the mainstream Facebook App.

Lite remains open for me.

Most likely the app. Facebook is developed in groups, and there are dozens (or more) versions of the app in thw wild at any given time. They do a terible job optimizing it, and typically it is litterally a programing sand box. I don't mind facebook as a company, but their app is an abomination to all that is proper in the world. Someday its gonna bite them on the *^*.
