Facebook running in the background

If I stop Facebook from running in the background will I still get my notifications? I feel like my battery is going down quicker than when I first got the phone and after the Android 11 update. Before I was able to make at least 24 hrs before charging. Now I'm back to charging twice a day.I looked at my battery stats and fb is pretty high.

I think I've asked this before but for another phone. I just don't remember which one. Lol

Delete the app and start using browser instead.

You can long press facebook app then tap info and restrict background, also force clear it's cache and force close see if it shows up next charge cycle. I gave the app not seeing that kind of battery drain.

Your notifications will stop. I've found that fb is the most aggressive app on mine as well. Reopens every time I close it down. I like the app for gifs as well... Their developers could make a much better app without all the drain...

This is what I did. I had to disable it though as it wouldn't delete from my S10+

That really seems like some kind of glitch. I agree with mustang7757 -- try clearing the app cache/data for Facebook, and then force stop it. Then open it again as you normally would, and see if the battery drain comes back over the course of a day.

It hasn't for me , but try it for a day if it does go back to allowing

I ended up turning the background back on last night. I'm going to charge up my phone this morning and see how it does today.

I do think the cache erase and force close helped because fb isn't as high as it was when I first posted.

Ok so on Wednesday I tried using my phone with my Facebook app running in the background and yesterday I ran the phone without background. I used the phone and fb app more yesterday than I did Wednesday. I know my usage makes a difference. I'm just trying to see if my battery stats look OK. First pic I'd with background usage. Second is without.
