Facebook shows black contacts, chat heads white

Hello all,

I am having trouble with the images on my facebook app on the S4. I used the latest version of the app on my HTC Desire HD and it seems to work fine. See the screenshots attached.

Any ideas on what might be causing this? Some of the accounts are linked to a google account that has phone numbers and some aren't. I've tried various things to get it working but I can't seem to figure it out. Doesn't appear to be any particular pattern either.

Sorry but I couldn't find any of that on my phone or my friend's GS4. I tried to replicate the problem by switching settings but nothing.

Someone who had or has this problem might know more.

Anyway, have you uninstalled the Facebook app and reboot your phone and then reinstall the app just to see if that fixes the problem?

Perfect, that fixed it.

1. Clear application data for both Facebook and Messenger
2. Uninstall Facebook
3. Uninstall Messenger
4. Reinstall Messenger from Play Store
5. Reinstall Facebook from Play Store
