So recently I'm seeing that Facebook is starting to have more usage. More cpu minutes, etc. Any thoughts?

See attached.

I noticed that too the other day. A force stop seemed to clear it up.

About a week or so ago, Facebook Messenger was totally draining my battery. I would get about 5 hours until completely dead. A saw a bunch of threads on other sites with other users saying the same thing. Apparently something happened on Facebook's server end that was causing it to constantly try to connect to their servers. I would assume this issue has something to do with that, since the app itself hasn't been updated recently.

This makes sense. Haven't seen the problem myself but I've also been installing ROMs on a weekly basis and starting from scratch each time, so I may not notice these things as much.

Facebook app seems terrible for battery on lollipop. I went back to using the mobile website but missed the app so I've reinstalled it and its back to hogging the cpu

Look for Greenify in the Play Store, I think you can use it without being rooted now, puts the app to sleep when you close it. I just tried it on my phone but it won't enable in Accessibility in order to make it automatic, you might have better luck.

Experiencing the same issue. It looks like this started happening after the latest app update, which was sometime late last week if my memory's right. Clearing the app cache didn't help, but force stop does for a bit.

The same is happening to me since about a week with Facebook app: CPU lagging and battery drain. Clean master also alerts it rightly from time to time during the day.

Glad to see it's a generalized problem, I hope they fix it asap, I'm also with the web version meanwhile but it's not the same.

I just got the update, will see how it goes!

Don't see any available update.

Do you notice any changes?

Mine updated, but I wasn't having any issues so I can't answer your question. Personally I think the app has gone to crap after they made it every time I open it I have to tap the lower menu and then choose Most Recent. Really annoying.

They've been pushing the "Top Stories" for a while - as though they know what you want to see and what you don't. I prefer Most Recent as well.

Haven't had the same issues as others in this thread.

Well here's a new screenshot from today. Still haven't seen an update.

By the way my settings are for it to never refresh.

This is unacceptable.

I had the same thing. I uninstalled the update and ran facebook for a couple days with no problems.
Reinstalled the update last night and haven't had any problems today thankfully.

Got the facebook update. So far it seems like things are better. It hasn't been hogging cpu time since.
