Factory Reset my Optimus V in Privacy Menu

I'm not sure what that recovery flashing script is, but it's just two lines in terminal to do it quick and easy:
Code:
su
flash_image recovery /sdcard/NAME_OF_RECOVERY_HERE
;)

The thing is any recovery that i use besides the xonia one gets me stuck in a recovery boot loop... and the xonia one doesn't even work.. it gets me to boot but it makes me factory reset, then wipes cache

I noticed if you rename it to anything other then v.img or recovery.img it wont flash. Try renaming the recovery to v.img I bet it will work then. If you can flash in your recovery I have recovery flash zip in my drop box if you want to try that just let me know what recovery you want.

Sent from my Quattrimus ICS OV.

I think I see your solution.

You factory rest and got a boot loop. Instead of following the stickies to break out of the loop you flashed a different recovery. Resulting in a weird it's working but not fully way.

As far as I know there's no easy "flash this" fix for a boot loop.

I think you should try and fix the loop before moving on, try this.

Flash the recovery you were using first when the boot loop started.
Then follow this guide: http://forums.androidcentral.com/op...break-factory-reset-bootloop-wiping-mtd8.html

I hope this helps.

Thanks in advance and one question... can i use flash gui or not... and should i place in root of sd card first then after the reboot use terminal emulator (thats what im going to be using) but send it to background, move the flash img. and recovery to the data/local then reopen terminal emulator

The script is written to wipe the false recovery flash that ROM manager does and some CWMN Recoveries that are not fully flashed: plus the Ra recovery can fix the problems caused by doing a factory reset from with in the ROM. You can use terminal and the FlashRecovery.sh is written to read from the FlashRecovery folder.

Thanks looks like this fixed the issue.

i used Xionia recovery to fix my phone after i factory reset it but no i can't turn off my phone without losing everything which is really annoying is there anything that can fix this?

Yes i had the similar problem and the above process fixed it.

My phone would wipe everything after a restart and i had to start setting up google account/wireless everything etc. It would restore the phone to the ROM and get rid of all the apps
