Factory reset?

Is it a good idea to do a factory reset after getting Oreo? After downloading and installing it tonight, my battery is down from 86 (at start of install, so I realize this used some juice) to 43% right now. And this is in well less than 2 hours, and I haven't actually been using it more than about 30 minutes (trying to find something that changed with the update. Um.....?) TIA

You may want to do a cache wipe

I too would advise you to wait before doing a factory reset. My battery (on a different phone, and a different manufacturer) will also take a dive after a major OS update. Wait it out and see! Let us know how your battery life fares in the next few days!

Thanks! That's what I'm thinking... Maybe by next week if it needs it.

I did a factory reset after a week. Was back on my feet in no time and fone seems to behave normal.

Have you done your factory reset as of yet? How are things going?
Ugh. I literally went to push the reset button and realized I need to make too many calls today to not have a phone for part of it. Hopefully tomorrow!

I really would recommend doing the cache wipe first and seeing if, after you do that, you think you still need a FR.

Understandable! Keep us posted!
I did it last night and didn't really have the time before bed to see how the battery was. Then just as I was plugging it in by the bed, I got another software update! So now I have no idea if it would have worked.

I did a factory reset about a week after the update and I feel like its running slightly better than before

I did an FDR on my Verizon phone, and it is definitely running better. I don't think mine updated to Oreo properly.

Aw man! That is too bad.
