Factory screen protector? Does Samsung replace it?

(considering a Flip 4)

I think that from what I understand, the Flip 4 comes with a screen protector. True? If it becomes damaged during its protective duties, do you buy a 3rd party one to replace it or does Samsung offer replacements?

Thanks!

As far as I know it comes with one and I think they replace it if it's within warranty. You will probably have to use one of there authorized deals and hope they have them in stock.

They sell aftermarket ones also just don't know how good they are. I think the flip 3 had a company called Whitestone with great reviews and would assume they would make one for the 4.

Sounds about right. I am concerned the screen protector will get "dirty" over a few months from fingers running across it. My TPU covers always do that and I'm not really a greasy person or maybe I am and don't realize it. They just wear out in about a month. I wonder if it's the same situation.

They last about 8 months give or take. I've seen Samsung say the screen protector (and screen itself  ) were wear items and refuse to replace them under warranty, and have also seen them replaced under warranty. A lot of it seems to be who you talk to, how much noise you make, how persistent you are, and if Sammy can find any marks anywhere on your phone to blame the protector/screen failures on abuse.

It hasn't been a stellar experience for a lot of Flip/Fold owners.

I don't get people complaining that the screen protector only last about 8 months. It's a screen protector that's not glass of course it will wear and eventually need to be replaced. Hell the ones that came with the S10 and above would also wear. I get that those phones don't need one (although I recommend to prevent deep scratches etc) a screen protector is an accessory rather included with the phone or not. If that ends up being your biggest complaint with the phone then it is definitely not the phone for you. I'm hoping to have just as good an experience with the flip 4 as I've had with my flip 3. If I do then I will be happy camper as it doesn't even feel like I've had the phone a year and I'm known to get bored with a phone quick

I had zero issues with the z flip 3 screen protector. Besides the beauty of the flip is one normally has it closed when carrying it around. Thus the screen hardly gets exposed to damage. Unlike the slabs, where the screens are always exposed to the elements.

I too have not had a problem with my screen protector on my Flip 3. I hope my new Flip 4 will be as good.

After I got my ZF4 I sent my ZF3 back to Samsung for a free under warranty screen protector replacement. They send you a FedEx shipping label and ALL is included under the warranty.

Good to know! Thanks! I like that they send the label and expedite things. Just have to have a backup phone for a few days.

Here's the thing! Just got a call from the service center and they don't have the "part"! I sent it back for a free screen protector replacement as you can't do it yourself apparently. Now I have to wait up to 60days for the part to show up as there's a global shortage of the special screen protectors.
