Failed attempt to buy a used Sensation

Hi!

Yesterday I met with a guy who was selling his Sensation. I checked IMEI and it was equal to the box, checked "water damage indicator" on the side of the HTC battery and it was white, then tried to turn on the phone, but it didn't turn on. We connected it to a charger and only after approx. 5 mins the phone turned on.

I noticed that guy forgot the SD card.

After we setup the initial settings, the I tried to check the software. First I noticed that Camera application started, but the screen was black. All I could do is just to push "Home" button to switch to a homescreen. The same thing was with Camcorder app - the screen was black and I couldn't see anything. It looked like there were some problems with a phone camera or whatever.

I tried to restart the phone: I hold power button and then on-screen menu appeared where I chose "Restart" option. But the phone just turned off. At that time the phone was charging with a car-charger.

Of-course, I didn't buy that phone. But I will continue to search for sensation phones on the Craigslist...

So, I wonder if someone here has ever encountered that problems with camera and "restart".

The was a serial number on the battery and the battery was marked with "HTC" logo. I wonder if it is possible to check whether it's original battery or not?

BTW, what is the current Android version in Sensation if we assume that we buy a new sensation today at T-mobile?

Nope, I haven't seen this issue.

The was a serial number on the battery and the battery was marked with "HTC" logo. I wonder if it is possible to check whether it's original battery or not?

My battery also has an HTC logo, it comes with a 1520 mah battery. I'm pretty sure the EVO 3D battery also fits, but I doubt they would give you a better battery haha.

BTW, what is the current Android version in Sensation if we assume that we buy a new sensation today at T-mobile?

I'm pretty sure it's still shipping with 2.3.3, there are a couple of custom roms using a leaked 2.3.4. (Which I'm currently using and it works perfectly.)
