Failed to flash Rom

I tried to flash this rom ◄[ROM][P600/1]►Hydronium ROM v2&… | Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) | XDA Forums, I followed the developer's instructions and it ended up soft bricking my tablet, at least I think it was soft bricked namely I am not 100% sure as to what a soft brick would look like. Luckily I has a backup of the stock rom on clockwork mod so I am fine now, however I would like to know as to why the rom failed? Sm-p600.

Try downloading it again. See what happens. Also, does the developer recommend a preferred recovery to use?

I already downloaded it again. The developer was hinting at twrp recovery, but never said that it was a must.

No, I do not have TWRP.

Sometimes TWRP seems to work better. I don't know why. I prefer CWM myself.

I found an app called Rashr on Play. It can flash several different recoveries, TWRP and CWM included, and works quite well.
