faint lines during video playback

I've noticed that I get faint dark lines during video playback from all sources, whether it's qqplayer, the built-in video player, youtube etc. and the source doesn't seem to matter. This happens in all the video formats I've tried, mp4, avi and others. They appear as faint dark horizontal lines (when the phone is in portrait mode) and vice versa. I've searched all the forums and can't seem to find an answer. Is my phone defective or is this a limitation of the GPU? Note that that the lines do not appear when viewing a static picture.

I have the same problem but it comes and gos don't know what causes it but I would like to know

No custom ROM, just a box stock Optimus V. It handles .mp4 created in DVDFab 8.1 very well with no stuttering but the lines are irritating seeing as my VM Blackberry displayed the same videos without a hitch. Razor sharp as well.

lol my friend had the 8530 bb. every 5 minutes it would lock up and need a battery pull. the reboot took half an hour. it was absolutely unusable.

however, on the stock ROM. my V also had weird issues playing videos. i dont remember lines, it was so long ago. but i remember i wasnt happy with it.

no problems on 2.3.4 Gingerbread AOSPCM7

Had this issue with 2.2 custom roms, not once with CM7
