Fairemail discontinued - Looking for new email app?

The Fairemail developer has decided to discontinue his app. Although I expect it will continue to work for some time, I plan to change to something with current development and updates. I am leaning towards Aqua Mail and have a few questions for users:

Most important: Does it have a combined inbox? I want all my emails in one place. I would also be nice if, like Fairemail, in that combined inbox, can you easily distinguish the accounts. For example I have two gmail accounts, so in Fairemail, I had one with a red sidebar and the other with a green sidebar.

Does Aqua Mail do well avoiding the delayed notifications that some apps, like the gmail app, have a problem with?

Can Aqua Mail be configured to avoid that annoying, persistent status bar icon Google trying to force be always present?

Overall, is Aqua Mail very customizable?

Does the developer support the app well? Is there a Aqua Mail thread here? I did not find it if there is.

Will the paid version avoid all ads? I have seen a few complaints that even the paid/pro version has ads. But others say no. Which is it?

Would also be interested is overall user experience and opinion of Aqua Mail.

I have used BlueMail by Blix inc for years. It is free and I have never noticed any ads; not even at the bottom of the screen. It has always been supported with the latest update in April '22, has a unified inbox, supports several email providers (Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc) and push notifications are immediate.

Thanks for that. I did look quickly at BlueMail as it seems to have a windows app also which I do not believe AquaMail does. But I quickly discounted BlueMail once I saw that the price for premium starts at $60.00 per year! However, looking at their website, it is not 100% clear what a personal user would get from the premium priced BlueMail app. Maybe BlueMail is an app where the free version is complete and not full of ads? I will take a closer look at it as the Windows ability would be nice.

Two specific questions from your use of BlueMail:
Can you get rid of the persistent notification up in the status bar?
And can you have emails from different accounts have different colors or tags or something to make it obvious in your unified inbox which email account a specific message was from?

Blue Mail has always been free for me. From their website, it appears they offer a business and business pro version that does have a yearly subscription fee. Unless you're using the app for business purposes where you need control over employees' email accounts, I don't see where it would be useful for individual personal use.

To answer your questions:

I don't have a persistent notification in the status bar. I only get notifications when I receive email.

I currently have 4 different email accounts with each assigned their color of my choice. I used to have 7 different emails because I helped manage my parents email accounts for them but no longer need those. Each of the different email accounts are labeled with my own personal labels. See screenshot: My Gmail account is labeled "Home," my Hotmail account is labeled "Hotmail," my Yahoo is labeled with my email address (which I crossed out), my Microsoft account is labeled "business" because I use that account for business purposes.

From the playstore, compare the features of the free BlueMail app to the features of the free Aqua Mail app. They look to be similar except it appears the free version of AquaMail includes ads where BlueMail is ad free.

Sad to hear about Fairemail. I have been using for a year or so.

I used to use Aquamail until the developer sold it to a company I can't remember the name.
Blue mail is pretty good. I may have to go back once fairemail starts to get real buggy.
