Fake Batteries labeled as OEM on ebay!!

HTC EVO 4G Sprint 1500mah Standard Battery - eBay (item 220612834177 end time Jun-26-10 12:25:24 PDT)

These batteries are FAKE!! if you look at the photo, there is no white triangle and the print is much lighter than it should be. These are fake OEM.

Just thought I would let everyone know, I came across it as I was looking for a battery to purchase. If you don't believe me look at some of the htc sprint hero unboxing videos and compare what you see there to the battery in that auction.

Hope everyone reports this scammer seller. More importantly, don't go around giving the Evo 4G bad battery reviews because you bought a fake battery on eBay that doesn't last as long. Do your research...here is proof:

As I understand it the standard or official battery for the Evo is basically the 1500mAHr battery in the Hero only in red. The black 1500mAHr battery would be electrically the same but wouldn't have the cool red color scheme.

I think I'll wait to see how my Evo battery lasts when I get it on 6/4 and because I tend to be on the lighter side of the use profile I think I should be OK. Still, the 4.3 inch display changes the game and may make surfing the web far more practical than it is on the 3.6 inch iPhone display so I may wind up using the Evo a lot more than my 3G iPhone.

But, being able to change the battery is a HUGE improvement over the iPhone and is one of the main reasons I'll be dumping Apple/ATT and moving to HTC/Sprint.

the battery i posted is a fake version of the black sprint hero, not just a fake version of the red evo.

It's not made by OEM, it's a garbage aftermarket with an HTC label on it.

Hope I made that clear.

As a side note...you should investigate further before you make a post implying someone is mistaken.

hard to say for sure since the photos look 'stock' and they don't look like they were taken first hand. If it looked like that, and that's the actual product you're getting...your odds are a lot better that it's legit. It could just be that the seller is 'that' professional that they take photos that look as good as stock...hard to say though.

A final test to do when you get the battery is to use one of the sensitive post office scales to weigh your original battery with the one you buy. weight is a huge factor in fake batteries (fake are usually lighter for the same mah).

seems pretty good as well, but nothing is 100% with ebay. you just have to test the battery when you get it and use your own judgement. i plan on weighing it and doing a rundown test from something like 80-50% or watching a 40 minute video starting at 80% battery.

Ebay is just a vast waist land of suck! You have to take anything you see there with the attitude that it is not what it says until you do a lot of research to tell you otherwise.

I love the concept of Ebay and have used it but it is just a scary place for your money at times. I would much rather pay a few extra dollars and buy retail anymore... I just don't trust the majority of people there sad to say. I had a bad experience with a drum set I was going to get not two years back... idiots.... ii

i ordered and received these batteries and they are indeed knock offs i will let you know if they in fact work when i get my evo on friday. however i have used knock off batteries for years in various phones with out a problem
