Fascinate guy looking to help a friend out

Okay, my friend has an Epic 4G like you guys, and I have a Samsung fascinate. I'm pretty experienced when it comes to flashing ROMs and stuff like that.

Anyway, my friend wants the new EE03 build on his un-rooted un-everythinged Epic 4G. I understand that with the Fascinate, we use Odin, and I think you guys do too. And I know the "don't flash anything through PHONE or your phone is sent on a one way ticket to hell" thing already. Lol. Always use PDA. But is there anything special that you guys do with Odin? Any other buttons to press or anything? I know to flash CWM 3.0 to wipe caches and whatnot.. and then download the .tar file.. then flash through Odin.. am I missing something here? Please let me know.

their odin packages work the same way as ours

only difference is how you go into download mode

I'm pretty sure I'm missing a thing or two. And I also want to know the way to put it in download mode.. on the Fascinate, you just hold the down volume button and plug it in via USB. Then the yellow triangle pops up. I see that we have a lot in common. Lol. You guys have Gingerbread first, though. Lol. Lucky people.

yeah put what you want to flash in PDA then hit start

to enter download mode: Hold number 1 on physical keyboard and press power

The instructions for flashing EE03 are in this thread: http://forum.androidcentral.com/showthread.php?t=85121


EE03 (Gingerbread) itself is flashed in Clockwork 3.0.2.5, however depending on your friend's current setup you may need to Odin back to stock EC05 (Froyo) and root/install CWM.
