lol..
Let me start out by saying that I have the greatest respect for anyone wishing to learn new things, and who takes the time to ask questions and work hard. Believe me when I say that I'm in no way trying to be rude.. However, if you're unsure what to do with the files, there's a lot more you need to learn before they're useful to you.
If you're familiar with linux, can get a distro up (preferably ubuntu, but anything should work) on a vm, dual-boot, etc.. and are ok using apt to grab packages, and git for source repository, then you're probably to the point where someone in IRC can help walk you through how to compile the kernel. Just jump on #samsung-fascinate on freenode and hang out.
If you're unsure how to do any (or most) of that, I'd start with some linux forums (ubuntu forums are a good starting point), and try and get a linux install up and running first, and go from there.
