Fascinate Update

THe update downloads for me, but it keeps failing to load. Was a a Verizon location with a friend, so decided to have them look at it. They couldn't do anything and was like "sorry nothing we can do" and sent me on my way.....

According to a support person I spoke with from Verizon, the server pushes it out in limited batches of 1000 or so. I think the idea is to keep their inflow of technical support requests manageable--if everybody got the update at once, think of all the pleas for help they'd get from people who somehow brick their phone in the process.

If you're not rooted, I'd suggest trying to be patient. Also, don't think that the people who root necessarily have it better than you. Flashing your phone is a perilous activity that can end in tears if you're not meticulous about following instructions and, even then, your mileage may vary. All that is to say, carefully consider whether or not you have the stomach for it before you go down that road. I am new to Android and, in the process of modifying my phone based on hearsay from forums, have terrified myself several times already!

If you are rooted, the OTA update will un-root your phone. I'd suggest installing ClockworkMod and then using the Unsigned Update posted by namebrandon. Just make sure you remove any lag fix you've installed before you begin.

I did the update the day it came out. It kept going through the sequence over and over and over. Now it seems laggy, and I have no startup animations. Neither the Samsung or Verizon animation.
Is there anyway to get rid of the update and re-do it? Sorry if this has been answered but I have been searching for a few days and can't find anything to help me out.
