Fast Charging issue

Android Central Question

I have a 3.8 v 15.2 wh Li Po battery in my phone and i don't have the stock charger so i am using a Samsung Fast AC 5 V 2 A , although i don't need the fast charging its ok if my phone don't support it i am just worried if anything bad can happen ,, after i heard the charger hissing and releasing a weird smell and its still working but im afraid to use it

If the charger made noise and smelled I would discontinue using it, it poses a danger to you.

Chargers do go bad and melt and catch fire. I've experienced it myself. Stop use now.

Replace it. All chargers support the 5V standard for charging, so pretty much anything else will work. If you get a Quick Charge or similar variable voltage charger, they will default back to 5V if your phone doesn't support that protocol.
