Fast charging question

How come it'll say something like "10 minutes until fully charged" and after 10 minutes it will be 100% but the red led indicator is still on and it'll still say "fast charging" for a couple minutes until it says "fully charged" and the indicator is green. Is 100% not always truly 100%? Is it ok to take it off the charge before it says "fully charged"? I took it off today while it still said "fast charging" 100%.

I don't have that phone, but I've seen similar practices on other phones. 100% on the gauge isn't necessarily full. It's not a good idea to completely charge a Li-ion battery if overall longevity is your concern. The general guideline is keeping it between 40-80%.

And fyi it is not going to fast charge at chill speed until it's full. It may be using the fast charging protocol, but it slows the charge rate at about 75%, and it tapers off until it's full.
