Fast root no computer nor app

Yeah I got cwm going on my phone. I see what you are saying I am going to mess around with some of the roms out there.

I got my 2nd mt on cyber Monday for $110 and did it under my wife's account so if I mess this phone up Its no big deal its my play with phone. Plus I got everything backed up so I should be OK.

Thanks for your help, that's what I like about this forum. I ask a question and you guys and gals answer without being arseholes who think they are better then me. You peoples rock thanks again.

I got cm7 going now. All I can say is wow it was a lot easier then I thought it would be. Now just got to watch some YouTube videos to get what I want this phone to look like.

Thanks again

The only reason I really want to root is because of the bloatware on this phone. I want to get rid of it so my battery lasts more than 6 hours without a charge. This would be a much better seller if not for that main issue IMHO.
Thanks again

I have the android razon and everytim i enter the sudo code i get not found instead of #...helllpppp please i worked on this yesterday for hours:'(:mad::-\:(

If you are on 2.2.2, then the gingerbreak apk should work for you. I did it and it gave me root access in minutes. Even though you don't need to root if you want to install custom roms. All you have to do then is install which ever recoveery you like and most of the roms come with root access.

This is only for the Motorola triumph for some reason every triumph is already half way rooted you just need to command it to fully give you root access

Step 1: Download Android Terminal Emulator
from the market.

Step 2: Open up the Emulator and type in sudo,
you should get the # symbol.

Step 3: Type in the following code:
Code:
ln -s /system/xbin/sudo /system/bin/su
ln -s /system/xbin/sudo /system/xbin/su

Step 4: Reboot and you should have root
access

NOTE: This will not install busybox, so if
you wish to have busybox you will have to
install it from the market or manually. This just
provides you with root access.

THERE YOU GO GUYS:)

Thank: b_randon14 at XDA and ANDROID FORUMS for making this happen

Does this mean, in a few words, that I can root my Triumph without a PC!!!! :)

Yes it does sudo is the superuser command in Linux, it bypasses.not having to have superuser already installed on your phone.

But it only works for certain phones.

Triumph running 2.2.2 can use Ginger break to root without a PC? Just as easily as the optimus v was?

That's what I used on my husband's Triumph. I have an HTC Evo 3d on VM but he still has his Triumph. It worked like a dream. Now I'm stuck without root on the HTC because I don't have a computer. Not to mention having to unlock bootloader, gain s-on, ect. I wish every phone was so easy to root. It's a must If u want to get rid of all the bloat mfr 's like to toss in.
