Hi I bought a used nexus 7 16gb pre-rooted with CMW recovery installed, I love it. I played with the stock ROM for a few days before flashing a cm-10 nightly. I read about needing to be plugged into a computer to boot into recovery from fastboot so I unpacked my mini-usb cable, plugged my tablet into my computer and nexus, powered my nexus off, and rebooted into fastboot by pressing vol down + power and it was frozen I couldn't do anything so I unplugged it and tried again and it worked but as expected it froze when I selected recovery I've tried selecting recovery and plugging it in to no avail I used terminal emulator and ROM manager to get into recovery to flash cm-10 and it works great so far been updating it daily and it's getting better and better but if something goes wrong with the firmware I need to be able to get back into recovery to re-flash the ROM can anyone help me? Also I just want to say I do know what I'm doing with this stuff this is my 3rd android device and I'm a Cyanogenmod person I'm doing a little deving for my phone and so far have been a little successful with some stuff also all of my devices have custom ROMs on them anyways it's probly something stupid that I'm missing, thanks

Just tried on mine booting to recovery from the bootloader, plugged into the computer, and it worked fine. Not sure why its freezing on you. Could be a CWM bug, many of us recommend using TWRP recovery these days. It's a much better interface and faster than CWM as well. I would flash it from the bootloader then try booting into it. To flash it, download the image from here: TeamWin Projects - TWRP 2.3 | TeamWin

Put the .img file in your toolkit directory or whereever you have your adb/fastboot files. Flash it with:
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.3.0.0-grouper.img

Then try to boot into it and see if that works..

Thanks will try that

EDIT: OK so right before I flashed twrp it didn't freeze on me I know it was freezing before, so what's suddenly different? I switched from windows XP to windows 7 on my laptop (dual boot) but I tried on my other computer running windows 7 and it still did the same thing O.o I even installed the boot loader interface drivers and it still froze then I post a question and it works just fine *rolls eyes* just my luck anyways thanks for the help
