Faster finger print sensor since new Nov update

Does this only happen with 3rd party apps that you installed, or also with apps that came preinstalled? If the latter, then see if it still happens in Safe Mode: https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/2852139?hl=en

I don't know how to fix this. Confirmed with my brother again and his 6. Definitely short ram memory. Made worse by the splash screens

I did. Also did it to the YouTube app.

Go to Settings>Security -- both your Security Update and Google Play System Updates are current (Nov 1)?

Just turned developer options off. Everything seems to be up to date.

No change at all. I'm hoping the December update addresses this, though I don't see it mentioned in the release log.
