Favorite Contacts Star Missing - Note 10.

"Favorites" Contacts Possible still? and IF Yes, HOW??

I don't have a Favorites STAR in (desktop Green Phone Btn/Contacts, or Contacts Shtcut ... or Anywhere.

EDIT: Bizarre, but I see a Star Only IF I clk INFO for a RECENT contact used, THEN it works. Whodathunkit?

I have no problem with the Stars. Not in contacts or in the phone app. AT&T Note 10.

Do you have a theme installed? Maybe that is causing odd issues. Try going back to the default theme.

This is where I get confused.
I have Dark Mode set - AND - a Free (forest scene) Dnload for Home Pg & Lock Screen but no change in Theme.
Change the HmPg + Lock Screen back to Day 1 does nothing.
Since I've learned if I call a Contact & hang-up, it's being in Recents Info produces the Favorites Star, so THAT will have to do..

I finally solved it on my Verizon Galaxy S10. It was driving me nuts.
There's a bug where the star doesn't show up on my phone contacts. So you need to tap just right of the contact profile pic where the star would be and all of a sudden I have the contact under favorites. It's an invisible star.
Unbelievable that Samsung hasn't corrected this. It's been like this for years.

Could this just be a theming or night mode bug rather than core app?
I've noticed very, very light grey search text in certain apps under certain themes, so maybe a very dark grey star outline on an only slightly darker background

Are you using a theme ?

Just night mode just now as the latest efforts have their own compatibility problems but noticed glitches on the 8 with Substratum.
I don't use the favourites but it rang a bell is all. One I did notice that was sometimes it would darken, or lighten a highlight to near that of the background in some apps. Especially if the app offered its own dark/might mode.

Just experimenting with the Force option since you reminded me of Developer Options in another post.

i know it's been about 6 months since @CraigS26 asked, i had the same issue since adding a new contact (using a theme as well).

select your contact -> edit -> groups -> "not assigned"
open that up and select "starred in android"

that put them in my favorites. hope that helps.
