Favorite ROM for Galaxy Tab 10.1?

hey guys,

whats your favorite rom for the galaxy tab? i just rooted my kindle fire and romed it with AOKP and love it. i still can't believe my kindle fire has ICS and my galaxy tab is only rocking honeycomb. i know sammy is releasing the ics update sometime for us in july but maybe i should just jump the gun and rom it with something.

Go for Galaxy Task 14, its been benchmarked against ICS and is on par if not better at some things. Its uber stable and very quick.......been using his ROMs for a while now they are as good as they get.

Totally agree with GalaxyTask 14... This rom, although not ICS is amazing. I've had my Tab for a year now and rooted and romed it almost as soon as I got it. I've gone through a lot of roms in this last year, mostly HC based ones and GalaxyTask 14 puts all of them to shame.

I'm running CM9 and love it.

If you can live without the camera and deal with the occasional minor bug (mostly due to the fact that Samsung has not released the office ICS update yet), then it's definitely worth checking out. Task ROM is nice, but once you get used to the ICS browser and the improved keyboard performance, it's hard to go back...

Not used the browser or keyboard but they would be hard pushed to beat Dolphin HD & Swiftkey, both of which I use on HC

I used Dolphin HD pretty much exclusively while running HC, but to be honest, the stock browser in ICS really is on par with it. Add to that the fact that it auto syncs my bookmarks with my desktop Chrome browser, and its a win for me.

Regarding the keyboard, I use swype personally, and have used swiftkey in the past as well, but it's not so much which keyboard you use, it's the fact that typing using ANY keyboard simply works better. It's more the interface between the keyboard and the apps that has been improved. I remember running HC getting often frustrated because trying to select and type in some browser fields proved to be an exercise in futility; as well as often dealing with a slow translation of characters to the screen as I would type, forcing me to slow my pace to "tap a letter...wait...tap a letter...wait..." So it's not so much that the ICS keyboard is better, but the typing experience is much improved.

ICS on this device isn't perfect, and won't be until we get an official version from Samsung, but these are examples of some items that I found are definitely improved when running CM9 on my tab....and why I haven't switched back to HC despite the current ICS ROMs' shortcomings.

Thanks for the input its good info to know. I've only recently updated Galaxy Task from 10 to 14 so will wait for the fully CM9 release before changing ROMS again.
