Ok so I just got up enough courage to flash with odin...I wanted to root first so I can back up my stuf f but when I ran the one click method and it pauses I dont see anything to turn off media sync!!! I pulled down the menu dont see it! What am I missing!! I have done everything downloaded and installed drivers turned everything off. Im so frustrated I cant figure out how to turn it off. Im sorry can someone please help me and get me to froyo goodness!!

if its not in the notification bar dont worry about it ,,,,if you want you can hold down the home screen>widgets>power control
then shut off the circle with the two arrows.

LOL thanks....That sounds very complicated though. isnt there an easy fix why this isnt working on my phone?? Could it be the drivers then I would be scared to do the ODIN. I am very new to this. Thanks for your help.
I dont know why the Media Scanner Keeps going. How did it work for everyone else but not my fascinate. LOL!! Its all to funny to me. Its my luck with this phone. I finally got the courage to do all of this. Sounded easy and I was ready to knock it out. Then Try the easy root and blamo cant do it!
its actually easier than the one click method, dont let it over whelm you , if you want to see visuals and more indepth on clockwork before you use it just so you feel comfortable try this

If I dont backup what r the chances from going to 2.1 to 2.9.2 that I mess something up and loose everything? Cause you said it doesnt system wipe. Also Im on a Labtop does that make a huge difference?
ok lol,, then let me ask you this , you mentioned media scanner, not media sync....does it say its scanning your card at the tope of the notification bar?
yah scannin the SDcard then doesnt find the device after the reboot. Im sure im doing something wrong.
hmm sounds like your sdcard is either corrupted or not pushed in all the way... try removing the card and reinserting
Am I not supposed to hit "press any key to continue" after the reboot like it says? I have no clue nothing about media sync comes up anywhere. Im baffled. Do I need to be in touchwiz not LP? What r other variables. I have the Advanced google APK. I dont get why nodd. Thanks
