Feeling played on the 4.04 update.

This entire thread is a waste of time.

Agreed. I'm going to leave until the OTA actually comes out and then come back to see how many threads there are talking about how the update sucks and it didn't fix anything...or better yet, how the update is causing new problems...lol

What exactly is so mind blowingly different/better about 4.0.4 vs 4.0.2? I'd bet a paycheck that almost no one on here complaining, could even tell the difference without going into the settings and looking. Its not like these new phones are running something groundbreaking...and if your phone is having issues with 4.0.2, changes are, its still gonna have said problems with 4.0.4 or whatever other new releases come out, sorry to say.

People need to chill out...its REALLY not that big of a deal.

This post is very ill informed. Going from 4.0.2 to 4.0.4 you get updates you your Radios among other things. That in and of itself is ground breaking for the GNEX. So rather than say there is nothing groundbreaking about it, why dont you research the changes first?

I just don't see how 18 different threads complaining about the same thing (why we don't have a new update yet) accomplishes anything. Do you really think that creating new threads every other day is going to change anything Google/Samsung/Verizon does? One thread about it I can understand, but do we really need a new one every couple days/weeks/whatever? It gets old.

Just as it is your right to create all these stupid unnecessary threads, it is my right to complain about such threads.

Or, what you could do is not click the link. Therefore opening said thread, of which since you clicked you fully intend on reading.

Nexus ugh!
Absolutely piss at the battery life!

just update to 4.04 imm76k using the strifejester method. its super easy to do and makes your phone noticeably better

"Yeah Johnny, we got hosed..." Actually pigs would've flown had an update been given today, so yeah. 9 more days and it will officially not be "early 2012" the documented release of ics to previous version androids.

It's a good thing Google keeps wink winking and nudge nudging updates out to just enough phones so someone can pull it and put it on the interwebs. Know what I mean? Say no more.

This update is really starting to upset me. I do want to root my phone. I want a stock experience that works. I guess I have to wait patiently to have Verizon officially push the update to my phone. Only time will tell what I end up doing. If this drags out pass the time the droid razr hd is out I plan to force Verizon's hand and hoping they will let me get that phone. I know its a stretch but I figure why not...

You dont have to root and unlock to installed the 4.0.4 IMM76 update.

I used instructions found here to update my BONE STOCK 4.0.2 GNex to the latest 4.0.4 leak.
IMM76K Direct for Verizon Galaxy Nexus Manual OTA Instructions [UPDATED][New Working Link] ? StrifeJester's Rants

When all is said and done, phone is not rooted or unlocked. As if the OTA was pushed right to the phone.

What a conundrum. I just bought my GNex on friday. I want to update so bad to 4.0.4 to see if my radios improve. I don't want to root because I won't be able to return it if I do.
The update method shows how to update the phone using a windows machine. I'm using a Mac and I don't know enough about terminal to try and translate the steps.

The folks at Verizon said they don't know when they send out the update. Isn't that absurd!

My options are: (a)keep the phone and hope the update fixes it, (B) return the phone all together, or (c) figure out how to update manually.

Any Ideas?

I would exchange if i could, for another GN or whatever, because the fact is that the GN is not seeing very much support and it would suck to be stuck with a phone that has problems from the get go.

Just so you know, it's VERY simple to unroot and relock your device if you want to return it using a toolkit like Wug's. I never had issues when I was stock, but now I get LTE in a concrete skyscraper where nobody gets LTE. So, the new radios are certainly an improvement, at least for me and my nexus. Take a look:confused:

Can I do this using a Mac?
