Feeling played on the 4.04 update.

SLAVE2THEAXE works for Motorola.... that the only way I can justify his passion on this topic.

Negative...I own a GNex, and love it. It just gets old hearing people pissing and moaning about essentially nothing. Kinda how you guys are sick of hearing my comments on the subject...that's how I feel when people constantly complain about where the update is and why we haven't gotten it yet...lol

Haha.... well played. Yea, stuff can get pretty annoying. All in all, I love the phone.

i finally decided to give up on verizon releasing 4.0.4 and get gummynex (along with the 76K radios).

for those who are saying this update and the new radios make no difference

1. i haven't had any reboots yet
2. it is faster to enter the camera app from lockscreen
3. i have 10 dbm more signal in my room (and it is the lte radio instead of constant switching to cdma)
4. the browser has been updated
5. i haven't had the mic issue yet (knock on wood)
6. the ui is smoother (though this may be apex launcher and the kernal governor)

I hope that verizon releases this update soon for those who don't want to root. rooting should not be a requirement for a working phone

I'm not trolling anything...I'm being realistic (something some people are incapable of apparently). I appologize for my "unscientific" study, but you do realize that people that have issues with this phone are the minority right? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand the difference between hardware problems and software problems, but I can say it again if it helps...

If it was a software problem EVERY SINGLE GNex out there would have these problems...they don't! ITS NOT A SOFTWARE PROBLEM PEOPLE!

But by all means, keep ignoring that fact if you must.

Me and my wife's Galaxy Nexus runs like a champ! So NO HARDWARE issue here! Please stop saying that. I know a ton of people on here who have perfect Google phones. The complaints are few are most have been cured already...( read the xda developer section). So it makes no sense to keep beating that drum. :banghead:

I've been suspecting differing hardware batches as reason for some of these issues. Of course I have no REAL idea, but it seems reasonable... (or I am grasping at straws!)
Some time ago, there was a brief mention about where an individual GN was made. Some are China and some are Korea. My devices have been problematic and mine are made in China. Dunno?

Now that has a lot of truth to it. When it comes to quality control. My wife had the yellow tinge on her China made gnex. Thanks to Franco's kernel gamma control, the problem is GONE!!!! Wow I love this rooting ish!! Best device I've ever owned. (Besides my old evo 4g) loyalty lol... Neways. Tweak the outta your phone until it's dialed.

unless you and your wife have used your nexuses in every city in the country so that you have hard data to share on your reception and ability to hold a signal, you don't know whether it would have issues or not

I flashed 4.0.4 couple of days ago but am having a few issues. I do notice a major difference in some things, like the camera app, and web browser. However, my phone is muuuucchhhh slower when unlocking the phone. I unlock and it lags like crazy, sometimes taking a 2-3 seconds for the soft buttons to appear. battery life seems to have dropped too, but that could be because of an app i installed. anyone else having the lag issue?

I have a very minor lag when unlocking. It's not too bad to the point that I want to pull my hair out but it was definitely noticeable after the update.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with the issue. I'm most likely over exaggerating simply because it wasn't there before. Same boat as you though, where it doesn't drive me crazy but it is noticeable.

I should also add that it doesn't always lag when I unlock. It seems random.

No, not well played. When you walk into a pre-existing conversation that you don't agree with, turning back around and leaving is a good play. Attempting to poop on the conversation for attention is never considered playing well with others. With a subject like this thread, he can't pretend he didn't know what he'd find in here. He clicked it deliberately to vent on how much we're annoying him.

I just don't see how 18 different threads complaining about the same thing (why we don't have a new update yet) accomplishes anything. Do you really think that creating new threads every other day is going to change anything Google/Samsung/Verizon does? One thread about it I can understand, but do we really need a new one every couple days/weeks/whatever? It gets old.

Just as it is your right to create all these stupid unnecessary threads, it is my right to complain about such threads.

While it is true I have not had my Nexus in every single city in the country, I have had it in several different cities/areas around the country with varying degrees of 4g coverage, and had no issues.

^^Logic fail. Lack of evidence of something <> evidence of a lack of something.

I disagree. I have thoroughly tested my device in several different markets and experienced none of the issues that people commonly complain about...therefore, my phone does not have these issues...therefore, not all Gnexs have these issues.

So by your logic, just because the very vocal minority have issues, all of us have those issues even though we have never experienced them?

Am I reading you right?

The issues I have is with apps and movies I stream having to reload or start over. You may not realize it but it doesn't have to be that way and it isn't on competitor phones. and its not a hardware issue.
