ok i just exchanged my mytouch slide for the vibrant and i love it so far. so i have 2 questions, is there a good free nav app that does turn by turn like the mytouch? also i want to get rid of avatar for a wayyyy better movie (kick-***) but it wont play in the .wmv format that the digital copy is in, is there a program that will convert to the .3gp format? thanks

Google Maps does turn-by-turn in navigation mode and is free. The GPS issues covered elsewhere (with workarounds) are likely a necessity first. I haven't found anything else free in Android Market that works as well for me.

All the WMV files I've tried to convert that are bigger than a few megs don't end well. You can try Rock Player - Redirect Intelligence Corp which I've had good luck with but it's costly. Or you can try Download All AVC Freeware for Windows and Mac - Any Video Converter Free, Any Audio Converter, Ultraget Video Downloader, DVDSmith Movie Backup (or their paid versions for more options). -Pk

When you install the newest Google maps it puts a Nav app button in the apps, so far its worked ok for me and before you do the gps fix get GPS test from the market place and see if the gps is working. I did this and have not had to change any settings.

so i have tried a couple converters with no luck, i am able to convert but the file ends up only being about 60kbs instead of 30 or so megs
